She was born on December 30, 1934 to the late Shady and Emily Burke Cofield in Bertie Co.,NC She leaves to cherish her memories: (4) daughters, Tammy Ausby of Belleville, NJ, Rita Valentine, Juanita Valentine, Pernell Valentine; (1) son, Maurice Valentine all of Newark, NJ; (6) sisters, Michelle Jefferson of Murfreesboro, NC, Doris Bembury, Mary Cofield, Gloria Cofield, Shelia Cofield, Rosa Cofield, NC all of Ahoskie, NC; (3) brothers Kenneth Brown of Newport News, VA, Douglas Cofield of Greenville, NC, Bobby Cofield of Ahoskie, NC; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
